GOLF TOURNAMENT PRIZE IDEAS Introduction - THIS PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION When hosting a golf tournament, scramble or company golf outing, it's always a good idea to give participants something by which they can remember the event. It's usually beneficial to make this give-away item something that's -- above all else -- practical, tasteful and one that reflects the theme or tone of the event itself. It should also reflect the budget of your event (fundraisers are typically handled differently since they're trying to raise money, not give it away...you get the idea). Your give-away item(s) could be an article of clothing (wind-shirt, polo shirt, sweater vest), a golf accessory (head covers, umbrella, shoe bag) or something they can actually utilize on the golf course THAT DAY such as golf balls, golf tees or a golf towel. Below you'll find a budget guideline, by event type that should help. Please understand there is no hard & fast rules here. Use your best judgment and keep your participant in mind. If he/she is a client, then go that extra mile. If the impression made isn't nearly as important, then use common sense when it comes to the amount you want to spend. For actual on-the-course prizes, although we suggest that you follow fairly traditional guidelines for longest drive, closest to pin, etc., there is a great deal of creativity that can be used in selecting these items.
